Is a Quick-Dissolving Pill in the Rectum an Effective and Safe Way to Prevent HIV Infection? In recent years, the medical community has made great strides in the fight against HIV infection. While preventative measures such as antiretroviral therapy (ART) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) have been proven to be effective, there remains a need for additional methods that can help protect against the virus without the need for daily medication.
